Over the last year the community driven tables offering free food to those who need it have grown to almost two dozen across Peel Region and into the Greater Toronto Area, and more are promised.

Zarka Shafiq, a volunteer who maintains one of the tables in Brampton, says she restocks the table up to four times a day with food donated by the community.

Although the initiative started with the pandemic, volunteers say it won’t go away once the pandemic does. Mark Carcasole has more.
