A B.C. woman celebrated her 99th birthday by skydiving with her great-grandson.
“I don’t consider that I’m a thrill seeker. I just like to know things, I like to experience things, Coquitlam’s Lucie Koenig told Global News. “I don’t scare easy.”
It’s not the first time in recent years that Koenig has gone skydiving. She strapped on a parachute for her 93rd birthday as well but had hoped to experience the thrill with her great-grandson Nicholas Tait.
Tait, 21, said he felt honoured his great-grandmother wanted to take the leap with him.
“I think I’m more nervous. I don’t think my great grandma is nervous at all,” he said. “She has no fear.”
Koenig has also gone ziplining and even elephant riding.
Travis Prasad reports.
