A child under 12 months old died in Barriere, B.C., on Thursday from a fatal cardiac arrest and it has some raising concerns once more about patients in the province waiting too long for potentially life-saving care.

While BC Emergency Health Services says the closest available ambulance was dispatched, the union representing the province's paramedics said the local crew was assisting with calls out of town and had to return home to respond to the baby's medical emergency.

Kristen Robinson reports on what paramedics are saying and how the community is reacting.
