Back to the office? Employment experts predict a post-pandemic "resignation boom"

With the end of the COVID-19 pandemic coming into distant view, companies and employees who've been working from home are beginning to think about what the future of work looks like. And as employment experts predict, there's likely to be a "resignation boom."

Experts say there are scores of people across Canada who want to leave the workforce because they're burnt out, need to care for family or want to make a career change.

"The pandemic has caused a lot of individuals to really become introspective and reflective with respect to not only all aspects of their lives, but certainly with respect to work. I anticipate that either as we move through the pandemic, but certainly on the other side, we're going to see attrition in the workplace," Laura Williams, founder of Williams HR Law said.
