Austria has become the first country in western Europe to reimpose a full COVID-19 lockdown since the start of summer as infections again rise sharply there.
It will take effect on Monday and is expected to last for three weeks.
Austria is also making vaccinations compulsory from February - the first for any Western democracy.
Two-thirds of Austrians have been inoculated against the coronavirus, which is on the low side for western Europe.
