At least 350 Pakistanis were travelling on the overloaded boat that sank near Greece on June 14, according to Pakistan's interior minister Rana Sanaullah.

Hundreds of passengers have been missing since the capsizing of the fishing boat. As well as Pakistani, migrants on the boat were believed to be Egyptians, Syrians and Palestinians.

Of the reported 104 survivors of the wreck, Sanaullah said 12 of them have so far been confirmed as Pakistani. “The number of people killed in this incident could become very high,” the official said on Friday.

The 400-capacity vessel had more than 700 people on board before it sank. Sanaullah said 281 different families across Pakistan had contacted them saying their loved ones may have been involved in the incident, and has pledged to prosecute human traffickers responsible for the disaster.
