Coronavirus infections are surging across Africa. At least one million new cases were recorded in the past month alone.
The World Health Organisation says the scale of African's third wave is unprecedented. It's being fueled by the more infectious Delta variant of the virus as well as the struggle for most countries to get their vaccination campaigns off the ground.
Even South Africa, which received its first doses at the end of February, is fighting against a surge in cases and deaths.
