As Armenia celebrates its Independence Day on Wednesday, its longstanding security partnership with Russia appears under threat.
Russian peacekeepers operate in Nagorno-Karabakh and within Armenia itself, but they failed to stop last week's border fighting.
Although Moscow negotiated a ceasefire between Baku and Yerevan, Armenians believe they should be looking elsewhere for protection.
