Armenia's political turmoil is showing no signs of letting up.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan tried to fire the head of the armed forces for insubordination this week, but the president refused to sign the dismissal document.
Pashinyan's opponents are trying to tactically outmanoeuvre him, they have the country's top army generals, the church and now the president on their side.
Al Jazeera’s Robin Forestier-Walker reports from the Armenian capital, Yerevan.
