Employees of Argentina's Family Agriculture Ministry (INAFCI) staged a protest in Buenos Aires on Tuesday amid concerns over potential job cuts following an announcement of the ministry's closure.
Last week, presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni declared the shutdown of INAFCI as a measure to curb government expenditure.
Protesters said the move is expected to result in over 900 job losses, with workers warning of potential impacts on consumers who purchase goods from local farmers.
The government has accused INAFCI of mismanaging funds. However, the workers said that they did not belong to the elite corruption rings that are the focus of President Javier Milei's policies.
