In Buenos Aires, Argentina, a massive anti-government protest took place on Tuesday. Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators marched against budget cuts to public universities. The protesters are frustrated with President Javier Milei's austerity measures, which have led to financial hardships for many citizens.

"The situation we are going through is really serious. It is not a corporate claim of the universities, nor is it a whim. There is a practical problem: if there is no reasonable updating of the operating budget, it is impossible to envisage the whole year with normal activities," Franco Bartolacci, president of Rosario National University, said.

"With the change of government that took place in Argentina in December last year, we now have a president who is generating a budgetary adjustment in all sectors of society," university student Abril Marcolongo said.

The protest is the largest yet against Milei's budget cuts, which aim to reduce the country's fiscal deficit.
