Argentinians jumped for joy around the Obelisk in Buenos Aires to celebrate their 1-0 victory over Colombia in the Copa America final on Sunday after Lautaro Martinez scored an extra-time winner in Miami.

The game marked the team's 16th record Copa win and the final international appearance of forward Angel Di Maria, 36.

During the tense soccer match, Lionel Messi injured an ankle in the first half and eventually left the field in the second, as fans bowed to him from the stands.

Singing chants and dancing the night away, fans expressed their pride and elation at the team's victory, which comes two years after their FIFA World Cup championship.
