Ancient sites in Gaza are being restored.
Many of the locations have been abandoned for years because of the ongoing turmoil.
Israel's repeated attacks, as well as a lack of interest in archeology, have had a negative effect on tourism and antiquities in the Strip.
Foreign archaeologists are working alongside Palestinians to enable them to protect the historical sites.
Those behind the project hope this will bring attention to these ancient sites, despite Israel’s siege on the region.
Al Jazeera’s Youmna El Sayed reports from Gaza.
