Dairy brands Amul and Mother Dairy have increased the price of milk by two rupees per litre, with effect from today (August 17, 2022). As per a report in ANI, the decision has been taken keeping the rise in input costs in mind. Reportedly, this is the second hike by the brands in nearly six months. Earlier in March, both Amul and Mother Dairy increased milk price by two rupees per litre. A PTI report further states, that the companies were "compelled" to increase the liquid milk price. The states that are facing a hike in milk prices are Gujarat (Ahmedabad and Saurashtra), Delhi-NCR, West Bengal, Mumbai and a few other markets.
