The Centre today raised the age limit for the 'Agnipath' military recruitment scheme to 23 from 21 amid nationwide protests against the new model of enrolment of soldiers. The decision has been taken as no recruitment has taken place in the last two years, the government said in a release. "For the last 2 years, young people didn't get the opportunity to get inducted into Armed forces due to no recruitment process. Thus the government decided to increase the upper age limit from 21 years to 23 years. It's a one-time relaxation," Rajnath Singh told news agency ANI. (Video Credit: ANI)
