Leaders from eight South America nations are meeting in the Brazilian city of Belém to discuss regional measures to save the rainforest.
Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva called the summit to bring together the countries who share a slice of the Amazon.
It is the first time in 45 years that there has been a meeting like this, ensuring a regional response to combat crime and deforestation, as well as climate change.
