Alberta's provincial government introduced regulations prohibiting its schools from enforcing mask mandates, while simultaneously promising parents "guaranteed" access to in-person learning for students.

This comes despite concerns of hospitals being packed and critical pediatric surgeries being cancelled due to the spike in respiratory virus cases.
