Eastern African leaders have called for an immediate ceasefire in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
At a summit in Burundi, leaders of 7 East African nations called for a truce in eastern regions of Congo. The rebel M23 group is fighting to take control of an area rich in minerals. Troops sent there by the DRC military, as well as the East African Community, have failed to contain the conflict.
