Afghanistan crisis: Fears of return to Taliban rule as thousands seek help outside nation

Panicked crowds swarmed Kabul's airport a day after the Taliban claimed control of Afghanistan's capital, in desperate attempts to flee the country, with some even clinging to an aircraft in an attempt to flee.

Many Afghans fear a return to the Taliban's draconian rule, as the militant Islamist group reportedly rounds up and kills people on its target lists.

Meanwhile, images of women across the city are being whitewashed, as women's rights are expected to be decimated under the Taliban. Now, people are calling for help from outside the country including from Canada as relatives in that country are worried sick.

Eric Sorensen looks at the apparent fall of the country, nearly 20 years after the U.S.-led invasion.
