One of the most notorious figured in Peru's recent history has died after 29 years in prison.
Abimael Guzman was the founder of the Shining Path, a hardline armed group.
An estimated 69,000 people, mostly in Peru’s poor interior, were killed between 1980 and 2000 in the internal conflict launched by the group.
