On Sept. 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in the terror attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City. On that fateful day, Canadians were among those who lost loved ones with 24 citizens of Canada among those who died.
The families of Kenneth Basnicki and Ralph Gerhardt were among those who lost someone, both men being in the North Tower.
Shallima Maharaj talks with Basnicki's son and Gerhardt's brother, both from the Greater Toronto Area, about what they went through that day as the 20th anniversary approaches.
