90,000 residents flee Nagorno-Karabakh amidst uncertain future

The Armenian government has said that more than 90,000 residents of Nagorno Karabakh have now left the disputed territory.

That's over three quarters of the population of the self-declared republic.

The area is internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan, where it's located - but it's been administered by the ethnic Armenian majority there since the fall of the USSR. But yesterday the leader of Nagorno-Karabakh said his government will dissolve itself and the republic by the 1st of January.
