5 Of Family Drown In Maharashtra Quarry As Rescue Goes Horribly Wrong

Five members of a family, including three children, drowned in a water-filled quarry in Maharashtra's Thane district on Saturday, the police said today. The family members had jumped into the quarry to save one of the accompanying child members who apparently slipped and fell into the water, they said. The incident took place at 4 pm in Sandap village near Dombivali, adjacent to Mumbai.
