2021 was a year of reckoning for Canada. In May, 215 unmarked graves were discovered near the site of a former residential school in Kamloops and more discoveries across the country followed.

It forced Canadians to take a hard look at the horrific treatment of Indigenous children and present day injustices to Indigenous peoples.

And while there has been some change, the work is far from done. Heather Yourex-West has more.
