2 young brothers dead, mother falls from balcony of Toronto district apartment

Toronto police say two young children have died after they were found with no vital signs in an apartment building in Scarborough, Ont. on Sunday night.

The boys’ mother was taken to hospital in serious condition, undergoing surgery after falling from the balcony of their apartment.

Insp. Terry Browne from the force’s homicide unit told reporters in a Monday update that the death of the two boys, who were brothers, had died under suspicious circumstances. Browne said the 25-year-old woman, the boys’ mother, was found on the ground outside of the apartment.

Neighbours described the woman as distraught after her husband and the father of the two little boys had died less than two weeks ago.
