Abu Agila Mohammad Mas'ud Kheir Al-Marimi, the Libyan man accused of making the bomb which destroyed Pan Am Flight 103 and killed 270 people in 1988, has made his first court appearance in an American federal court.
Mas'ud’s prosecutors will not pursue the death penalty, as the bombing happened before the charges carried a chance for death sentence.
As Jackson Proskow reports, this is a day the families of the victims thought they would never see.
