Shelter, heat, food and water are desperately needed for the Turkish and Syrian families who lost their homes in the deadly earthquakes which rocked both countries.

The powerful quakes struck early Monday, toppling hundreds of buildings and killing thousands of people. The death toll is expected to rise significantly in the coming days.

Redmond Shannon spoke to some people in Gaziantep, Turkey, about what they're enduring on this tragic and traumatic day.
