‘Assassination attempt took place against Trump’: FBI

The FBI, local police and the Secret service held a press conference, in the wake of what's being investigated as an assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump.
They've confirmed that one person who was attending the rally was shot dead. The Secret Service shot and killed the shooter. Two others were critically wounded.
They say all three victims of the shooting were adult males. The suspect was also male.
They say they have no reason to believe any other existing threat is out there currently'.
President Biden has returned to Washington, DC and Donald Trump's plane has arrived in Newark, New Jersey.
