The murder of mafia and former MP Atiq Ahmed and his former MLA brother Ashraf Ahmed has been termed as political murder by his lawyer. Atiq Ahmed's lawyer Vijay Mishra claimed that this is a political murder, the name of the person who got killed is written in the closed envelope. Ateeq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in police custody in Prayagraj on Saturday (April 15). Ateeq Ahmed's lawyer said that when I met Ashraf in Bareilly Jail, he said that I will be murdered and will write his name in a sealed envelope. The letter with the name in the closed envelope will be sent to the Chief Justice. He said that Atiq Ahmed's absconding wife Shaista Parveen was contacted ten days ago, then she had said that she wants to surrender. Along with this, he said that we will go to the Supreme Court regarding the case of murder in police custody and negligence in security.

माफिया और पूर्व सांसद अतीक अहमद और उसके पूर्व विधायक भाई अशरफ (Ashraf Ahmed) की हत्या को उनके वकील ने राजनीतिक हत्या करार दिया है. अतीक अहमद के वकील विजय मिश्रा ने दावा किया कि ये राजनीतिक मर्डर (Murder) है, बंद लिफाफे में मरवाने वाले का नाम लिखा है. अतीक अहमद और उसके भाई अशरफ की शनिवार (15 अप्रैल) को प्रयागराज (Prayagraj) में पुलिस हिरासत में गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई थी.अतीक अहमद के वकील ने कहा कि जब मैं बरेली जेल में अशरफ से मिला था तब उसने कहा था कि मेरी हत्या कर दी जाएगी और एक बंद लिफाफे में उसका नाम लिख जाऊंगा. बंद लिफाफे में नाम वाली चिट्ठी चीफ जस्टिस तक पहुंचा दी जाएगी. उन्होंने कहा कि अतीक अहमद की फरार पत्नी शाइस्ता परवीन से दस दिन पहले संपर्क हुआ था तो उन्होंने कहा था वो सरेंडर करना चाहती हैं. साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि पुलिस हिरासत में हत्या और सुरक्षा में लापरवाही के मामले को लेकर हम सुप्रीम कोर्ट जाएंगे.
