They should be at school or dating or playing sport or going to the movies or doing their homework. In short, they should be having a childhood. Instead, they have something else: war. For many Palestinian children it is all they know, and virtually all they do. Stones against bullets. Kids against the cream of the Israeli Army. Many are the third generation born into a refugee camp; they've seen fathers, uncles, brothers and their best friends die. Yet, still they come back. It is sad and tragic - and it never stops. As Richard Carleton reports, you can virtually set your watch by it. Once a week, same time and same place. It is the Friday war.
