Grieving family and friends of 27-year-old Danish Baig hailed him as a hero as they laid the Texas resident to rest, just two days after he was killed during a stampede at rap star Travis Scott's Astroworld music festival in Houston.

Basil Mirza Baig, Danish's younger brother, vowed to seek justice as he remembered his brother, who he said died trying to protect his fiance from the crush of the crowd.

"Travis Scott's team, everybody who was associated with this should be held accountable for the lives that were lost today and the day of," He added.

At least two investigations and one civil lawsuit were underway into the deadly stampede that killed at least eight people and injured dozens.
