A $80m United Nations crowdfunding campaign has raised enough money to begin emergency operations to transfer oil off ageing tanker sitting off Yemen's coast.
The FSO Safer tanker has not been maintained regularly since the Yemeni civil conflict began seven years ago. Environmentalists fear more than a million barrels of oil could leak out, causing immense damage to the seas.
