As 2022 comes to an end, it’s impossible not to compare how this year started to how it’s closing out.

Some things haven’t changed – COVID-19 is sticking around – but a lot has happened: Some good, some bad, some downright ugly.

From the "Freedom Convoy" in downtown Ottawa to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Uvalde, Texas school shooting and the "rise" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the war with Russia raged on, 2022 had no shortage of events that kept people's fingers on the pulse of the world.
