WSJ journalist Evan Gershkovich's espionage trial begins in Russia

Evan Gershkovich, a Wall Street Journal reporter accused of espionage in Russia, went on trial behind closed doors in Yekaterinburg on Wednesday. His friend and Wall Street Journal colleague Gráinne McCarthy called Gershkovich ‘an incredible person’ and journalist, noting that he's had no direct contact with family for 15 months, aside from handwritten letters.
