The United Nations is marking World Water Day by raising awareness about access to clean water and sanitation.
One in four people – two billion worldwide – do not have access to safe drinking water and 1.4 million people die annually of diseases related to poor sanitation and hygiene.
Shortages are already hitting those who live in cities. What that means in low-income areas of cities like Caracas, is that some Venezuelans say they have not had tap water for decades.

Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi reports.
