A woman has died after being mauled by two dogs at a property in Essex, police have said.

Officers were called to a house in Hillman Avenue, Jaywick, shortly after 4pm on Saturday, where they found Esther Martin, a 68-year-old grandmother, seriously injured.

A 39-year-old man, who was known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous dog offences and remains in custody.
