Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa declared that he will appoint a new Prime Minister and cabinet this week in the country, which was plunged into chaos after Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse stepped down from his post on Monday, nulling the elected government. The chief of police in Uttar Pradesh has been removed from his post, the state government said, declaring in a statement that was "not taking interest in work" and was "disobeying orders". A court in Varanasi will deliver its verdict today in the case related to the inspection of the Gyanvapi mosque located next to the iconic Kashi Vishwanath temple.
