The heat wave in Western Canada is seeing impacts every day, with B.C.'s chief coroner reporting at least 486 sudden deaths in the province in the past five days, a 195 per cent increase, and while investigations are underway it's believed the heat is the major factor.
There are some who believe the heat should amount to a public health emergency. There are also questions about Premier John Horgan's response and why more wasn't done to protect vulnerable populations.
