Over a year ago, people on Teesside were alarmed to find a local beach was littered with thousands of dying sea creatures.

An initial investigation by the relevant government department concluded that it was caused by toxic algae.

However, local campaigners believe a powerful industrial toxin was to blame, and our Science Editor Tom Clarke has heard evidence they could be right.
