Russia's war on Ukraine is in its twenty-second month now and is showing no sign of letting up. The frontline has barely moved in months and still stretches across southern and eastern Ukraine. Kyiv's hopes of an efficient counteroffensive have been dashed, with troops making only limited gains through Russia's lines. Meanwhile the Ukrainian army is adopting more standards from its Western allies. One of them is the assignment of psychologists to the frontline. But how does that work in the middle of a war that shows no sign of abating? DW's Mathias Bölinger visited one session in Ukraine's Donbas war zone.
For the current state of the war in Ukraine we speak to military affairs analyst Frank Ledwidge. Is the West, together with Ukraine now working on a new counteroffensive strategy?
