Republican Rep. Steve Scalise ended his bid to become speaker of the House on Thursday after Kevin McCarthy was ousted from that seat last week. The Louisiana lawmaker said he was withdrawing from the House speaker race after he failed to secure the votes and support needed to push him ahead of his chief rival for the position, Rep. Jim Jordan. Lisa has a look from inside the Capitol as the speaker battle is unfolding.
