White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday said the administration was urging the World Health Organization (WHO) to take additional steps to determine the origins of COVID-19 after a report on the issue failed to meet expectations of the U.S. and its allies.

Psaki said there is a second stage to the process that should "be led by international and independent experts," saying they should have "unfettered access to data" and be able to ask questions of people who are on the ground.

"We don't believe that in our review, to date, it meets the moment, it meets the impact that this pandemic has had on the global community," Psaki said.
Psaki said they remain confident in the role of WHO, but they have some concerns about the analysis done so far in the report.
