White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is set to hold a press conference on Monday, where she's expected to comment on the Chinese warship that nearly collided with a U.S. destroyer in the Taiwan Strait over the weekend.

A Chinese warship came within 150 yards of hitting American destroyer USS Chung-Hoon, during a rare joint Canada-U.S. mission sailing through the Taiwan Strait, the latest aggressive military move from Beijing in the South China Sea.

Earlier in the day, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said the U.S. "caused trouble and provocation in the first place," while China acted in a law-abiding manner, regarding that situation.

Other topics Jean-Pierre will likely comment on include: the sonic boom caused by an F-16 jet chase which later resulted in a plane crash, the newly-reached debt ceiling deal, and more.
