When Jason Butler went into rugged Bay of Plenty bush a year ago, he was never seen again.

Jason had serious mental health issues when he was taken on unapproved work experience by a DOC contractor, and seemingly left behind to fend for himself.

He’s now ‘presumed dead’ and his grieving whanau want someone held accountable for what they say is a litany of failures.
