What might managed retreat look like for Aotearoa?

Moving people and homes permanently out of the path of climate change hazards may seem an extreme response, but experts say ‘managed retreat’ will be essential for some parts of NZ facing rising sea levels and increasing flooding risk. There are some thorny questions to be worked through before the Government settles on a managed retreat plan for Aotearoa, but here’s what it might look like.
