The EU's foreign policy chief, Joseph Borrell - has condemned the killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza on Saturday. Israel launched a heavy air and ground assault in and around the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza as part of a military operation to free four hostages held captive by Hamas.
The Israeli army has released footage that it says shows 25-year-old Noa Argamani entering a helicopter during the rescue operation. She and three men were kidnapped at the Nova music festival during the terror attacks on October 7 of last year, which triggered Israel's latest war in Gaza.
Hamas says at least 210 Palestinians were killed in the area where the rescue operation took place. Israel claims the number of civilian casualties is much lower, and says its focus is on the Israelis who were freed.
As news of the rescue operation spread, tensions were high on the streets of Tel Aviv, as thousands of Israelis were out again on Saturday demanding the government strike a deal to bring all the remaining hostages home.
Police used water cannon to disperse the crowds. Families of hostages joined the weekly rally. It's believed 120 people are still being held by Hamas. The protesters also want early elections and the removal of the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
