Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid a visit to the G7 summit in Japan to lobby world leaders for more support to fight back against Russia.
Zelenskyy laid flowers at a memorial in Hiroshima that commemorates the tens of thousands who died in the atomic bombing of 1945. The Ukrainian leader earlier met US President Joe Biden and held talks with other high-profile leaders. For the first time since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine last year, Zelenskyy also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who were invited to attend the summit as guests.
At a press conference, the Ukrainian president said he hoped a new peace plan would not only end the war in his country, but all wars around the globe.
