New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has resigned, a week after an inquiry found he sexually harassed several women.
Investigators say he groped, kissed or made suggestive comments to 11 current and former government workers.
It is a dramatic fall from grace for a man who, this time last year, was being talked about as a possible presidential candidate.
While his response to COVID was widely praised by Democrats, the FBI is investigating claims Cuomo's administration covered up the number of COVID deaths in nursing homes, potentially by thousands.
Cuomo's resignation goes into effect in two weeks - with the threat of criminal misdemeanour charges still hanging over his head. It will make Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul the first woman to serve as New York’s governor.
