Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy closed his rare trip abroad with a news conference alongside European Council's Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels, Belgium on Thursday.

Von der Leyen said that the European Union "will target Putin's propagandists because their lies are poisoning the public space in Russia and abroad. You [Zelenskyy] were insisting on that - we hear you, and we will follow up and we're going after them," she said.

Earlier in the day, Zelenskyy said Ukraine is moving closer to joining the European Union.

"We are moving closer to the European Union. Ukraine will be a member of the European Union," he said in an address to the European Parliament in Brussels, describing his country as "a Ukraine that is winning."
