Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Sweden and Finland ditched their neutral military stance and applied for membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO.
Following the announcement, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the alliance against increasing security presence in the Nordic nations.
Special correspondent Malcom Brabant reports that Putin's threats have special significance for the Swedish island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea, a beautiful vacation spot that is only 200 miles from the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. While vacationers visit the island’s historic city and beaches, soldiers run wargames in preparation for a possible Russian attack.
